BARBOS OLD AND YOUNG TO REPRESENT AT “MINGO 7S”
Your Denver Barbarians 7’s will take the pitch Saturday in Loveland CO for the inaugural “Mingo 7’s”. The team will play in pool B with matchups against the Rocky Mountain ‘Unselects’ (8:20am) and the Bad News Bears (9:20am). With the quarter finals beginning at noon, the Barbos will look to play deep into the tournament and hopefully bring home the hardware.
The familiar names on the roster feature Barbo “old boys” Ben Pinkelman, Steve Karas and Todd Oswald. Pinkelman began playing for the Barbos as a senior in high school in 2011 before launching a professional career with the USA 7s. Steve Karas captained the XVs side in 2024, and has been known to run the ball hard and straight. Todd Oswald has shown year in and out that age is just a number, as he enters his mid 30s in top form. These three veterans will lead from the front on Saturday.
Can this veteran cement his legacy by raising the hardware at Mingo 7s???
Some names on the more youthful side feature Elian Robles-Revuelto (an Iowa Central product known for his infamous rat-tail), Jacob Valdez (the 2025 most improved XV’s player) and Dillon Stander (a South African product who brings the Blitz AND the Bok). These lads will look to put a stamp on their Barbo 7s debuts.
There are also fresh faces from the Colorado collegiate pipeline. Players representing the CU Buffs (thanks to Barbo coach Jack Miller), Denver University (thanks to Barbo coach Campbell Johnstone), and of course some CSU rams.
We look forward to seeing Barbo fans in the stands on Saturday! Join us at Kroh Park in Loveland, CO!
