BARBOS 2ND XV SLAIN BY CO SPRINGS GRIZZLIES 57-36

Leland Beatley has a go at the gain line during a 2019 clash. The Grizzlies have always played tenacious defense.

The Barbos 2nd side was defeated by the Colorado Springs Grizzlies 57-36. The Grizzlies were dominant in the opening 20 minutes, running out to a 24-0 lead. The downhill running by Colorado Springs led to their large lead. The Barbos first scored through the hands of Tyler Grant, but the Springs answered with back a converted try of their own. Gus Sokol scored after a convincing dummy, and a Todd Oswald conversion brought the score to 31-12. The Barbos stood tough and battled throughout the match, but in the end the Grizzlies were the better team on the day.

That’s one way to offload …

Inside center (and former Barbo) Mattie Tago was clinical in the 2nd half, scoring multiple times to drive the Grizzlies over 50 points. The Barbos now go to 3-1 in the Rocky Mountain Championship, and will play next against the undefeated Denver Highlanders who recently moved down to the Rocky Mountain Championship. The game will be November 5th at Jacobs Park.

Todd Oswald sets up for a jump step (or something along those lines). Reed Ronan and P.T. Smith in pursuit.
